Bicycle Maintenance classes - Level 1 (Roadside Repair)

Pedal Lincolnshire are offering a level one ‘Roadside Repair’ 1-day bicycle maintenance course that covers roadside emergency bicycle repairs and maintenance, that can be completed without the need of using a professional cycle workshop, either at home or when out riding, using just a few basic tools. The aim is to help each rider get more from their bike and become more self-sufficient and give them the confidence to ride further afield with less worry about becoming stranded..

Level 1 Basic Bicycle Maintenance & Repair Course Dec 18th 2021

Level 1 Course Dec 2022

It is meant as a starting point for those unfamiliar with cycle repair to gain the confidence to be able to tackle basic emergency repair jobs at the side of the road, learn some new skills, pick up tips and also learn which jobs would be better performed by a qualified cycle mechanic.

It also allows those attending an opportunity to handle and use a number of key tools and to learn which works best with their bike and what ideally should be carried in their emergency tool caddy.

Multi-tools are an essential ride necessity, knowing which one works for your bike is the difficult bit! On our course you will get to try a number of tools and decide which is the most appropriate for your needs (including integrated or dedicated chain tools)

SUBJECTS COVERED:
  • Basic bicycle terminology

  • M-check (Pre-ride safety check)

  • Tools, spares & servicing products

  • Which tools and spares to carry on a ride
